The composer and lecturer in composition at KMH Marie Samuelsson is awarded the Ingvar Lidholm prize of SEK 50 000.

The motivation reads: "She is a strong personal voice in the new Swedish music. Her works show a captivating sound fancy, great thematic breadth and depth of insight into the human condition."

The Ingvar Lidholm Prize was instituted by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in connection with Swedish composer Ingvar Lidholm's 90th birthday. It is awarded to a Swedish composer or another music person who has, in a distinctive way, worked for new music in Ingvar Lidholm's spirit.

The prize will be awarded at the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's ceremonial meeting on 28 November.
